Our school is set in the village of Staunton-on-Wye , about 12 miles west of Hereford .  The school was originally housed in a very unusual three storey Victorian building but we moved to our brand new school in November 2010.  It is a fantastic new building that we are very proud of. It has many Eco features such as high levels of insulation, a sedum roof and a bio mass boiler to run our heating. It is set in large grounds that are being developed to include a “forest” for the children to play in, a large organic vegetable garden that the children will look after, a wildlife area, a musical woodland and a football pitch!

We are a small school with 86 children on roll, taught in four classes. Next door to the school is the Pre-school on whose premises an After School Kids’ Club is held on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday after school. We have a very close relationship with the Pre-school and a link to their website can be found on our VLE and useful websites page with more details of the service they provide.

Staunton-on-Wye  Pre-School Breakfast Club (8.00am-9.00am) is now open to all school children. Please enquire at Breakfast club for the cost. Pre-booking is
advised but not always necessary. Try ringing 01981 500682
 on the day by 8.00am.

Further details can be found following a link at the bottom of the page.

We aim to teach children well in a happy and friendly atmosphere, with good academic standards, combined with the recognition that children have different needs and progress at different rates. We are proud of our inclusive policy and continue to successfully integrate a number of children with special needs in our school.

We are a hardy bunch at Staunton and go out to play in nearly all weathers.  A little bit of rain does not put us off.  It is therefore very important that children have their coats with them every day, whether the weather looks good in the morning or not.

If you have any old waterproofs that your children have grown out of we would love them for the welly shed!

We also do P.E. in virtually all weathers so please make sure your children have the correct kit in school at all times.  If you are unsure of the uniform requirements follow the link at the bottom of this page.

Since moving to our new premises in November 2010 it has been necessary to change out school logo. Uniform with the new logo includes navy sweatshirts and red polo shirts worn by both girls and boys.

Boys wear either black or grey trouser or shorts and girls may also wear trousers, skirts or pinafore dresses. Long sleeve fleeces and P.E. t-shirts are also available.

For further details on our uniform, click on the link at the bottom of the page and visit our Useful Websites page for a link to order directly with the company who supplies it.
